We all know how therapeutic and relaxing a great cleansing session can be. With summer just around the corner, we need to focus on adopting a daily skin routine to keep our skin looking supple and fresh.  With spring officially here, now is the time to start implementing daily skincare habits that are appropriate for the unpredictable temperatures to come. Whether your skin is sensitive, dry, normal, or oily, there’s a hard-working natural formula out there that’s made for all of us!

Before I share some of the products I enjoyed this spring. First I would like to discuss how important it is to get a Hydra facial done before summertime. This facial has become so popular that everyone now is obsessed with it. This facial is made for everyone! It appeals to nearly all ages, complexions and concerns. It’s great for teenagers with acne-prone skin; adults with acne, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation; and for sun-damaged skin. It’s best to get it done during the last months of winter as that’s when skin needs deep moisturizing the most. Some of the great ingredients you will receive during the Hydra facial session are salicylic acid (if you are pregnant, nursing this step will be omitted from your session as it hasn’t been tested and proven safe during pregnancy). Only HydraFacial uses patented technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate. HydraFacial super serums are made with nourishing ingredients that create an instantly gratifying glow. In the session using only the hydra machine they first exfoliate and do a gentle peel remove debris from pores with painless suction. Nourish with intense moisturizers that quench skin and the last step is saturate the skin’s surface. The results you will expect to see after this facial is a glow with plump skin as it boosts collagen.

You can also choose to do a simple at-home facial once a week with a few great products that I’ve been using this month. They are natural and vegan and safe to use on all skin types. The first product is the dry face cleanser, you can mix the dry powder in a bowl with clean warm water to form a paste and apply it with a facial brush. The ingredients in this face cleanser consist of chickpea (which is a natural anti-aging ingredient), turmeric, cinnamon and jojoba chosen for their deeply embedded history and Asian roots in proven acne-fighting benefits. This blend works by gently exfoliating your skin daily, balancing out your skin tone and minimizing acne scars to improve your glow and achieve a flawless look of radiance.

I then follow it with the organic Arabica coffee scrub blend made with a hint of chocolate infused with vanilla oil, organic olive oil, and coconut oil that leaves your skin feeling smooth, brighter and glowing. Simply massage it into the skin, it will feel softer and tighter as the coffee grounds and oils work to gently exfoliate the face and body to get rid of dead skin cells, reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks, and improve circulation. Apply to dry skin and gently exfoliate. Wash away with lukewarm water. Who would want to skip on this amazing step, you also get a complete indulgence by the fabulous coffee aroma Mmm.

I then follow it with the clay mask made from three amazing ingredients that work to cleanse, detoxify and tighten all at once.  Kaolin clay works to help absorb more oxygen into the cells and smooths the skin out, the Japanese matcha green tea full of antioxidants works to promote healthy skin regeneration and tightens the skin, whereas the activated charcoal works like a magnet to attract and absorb all the pollutants and toxins embedded in the skin and pores. This mask is the key to all of your problems. My husband noticed results straight away!

The last step is to close your pores with a face toner. In the summer I usually like to keep my rose and witch hazel face toner in a spray bottle in the fridge to have it cool and ready when needed along with my face creams. Cold products help minimize the appearance of pores which is what we need for this hot summer weather.

Now that you have a simple step by step guide with some skincare recommendations. You have no excuse to skip these skincare steps, and I hope you follow through and start your own skincare routine this summer. Your skin will thank you when you’re older.  One last thing, don’t forget your SPF at any time you go in the outdoors to avoid blemishes and redness from the hot summer sun. Now go get started…..what you are waiting for!
